End of Year Report - 2025
White Elephant entries - 17th December 2025
2025 has been a brilliant year for the club with some great highs and one sad low as our good friend and founder Beresford Quimby left for the north coast of Scotland, I feel honoured to have been with him from the start and through the club’s journey and growth.
On to the stats (based on BGG records) which have a small degree of inaccuracy due to Pandora Celeste Card Game not being on BGG yet and I do not record duplicate plays in a single evening:
Games Played
798 games were played in 2025 this is an increase of 16.13%.
412 different games were played of which 244 were one-time visitations (1 & done), 80 titles were played twice leaving 88 being played 3 or more times.
A “1 & Done” rate of 58.94% is slightly up on last year’s 58.27% this always feels high as so many good games (e.g. St Petersburg, Tigris & Euphrates, Secret Hitler, It’s a Wonderful World and Cat in the Box to name a few) seem to get just a single outing and are put aside for the next newest thing.
Most Played
The most played game was Flip 7 with 20 plays followed by Just One (11), Splito (10), No Thanks (9), Port Royal (9), So Clover! (8), Spots (8), Istanbul (7) and Trio (7).
Five games continue to be popular being in the top 10 two years running they were No Thanks, Port Royal, So Clover, Scout and Kariba, I know they are fillers but nice that they still have appeal.
Attendance
2025 was the busiest year so far with a total of 1089 attendances, 63 were for our 2 All-Day Gaming events, leaving us an average of 20.12 attendances per evening (2024 was 16.44 and 2023 was 14.67).
We also had our highest ever attendance of 34 on the evening of 29th October topping our previous high of 32 for an All-Day event.
Thank You!
I would like wish everyone a prosperous 2026 and to thank everyone who attends the club, you all make every Wednesday a fun and enjoyable experience.
